The O'Neill Ninja 1.5mm Hood is a thin, lightweight surf hood designed for cool-water sessions and wind protection — a no-fuss head covering that keeps your ears and scalp comfortable without the bulk or restriction of a full cold-water hood.
Key Features:
- 1.5mm Neoprene — ultra-thin construction suited for water temperatures in the 60–68°F range; provides wind and spray protection for cool but not cold conditions
- Stretch Construction — flexible neoprene moves with your head through duck dives and turns without pulling or restricting neck movement
- Snug Face Opening — close-fitting face seal blocks cold wind at the jawline and forehead perimeter, which is the primary comfort benefit of a thin hood in mild conditions
- Sealed Seams — glued and blindstitched seam construction prevents water infiltration at the seam lines for consistent thermal performance
- Low-Profile Fit — sits flat under a helmet and layers under a wetsuit collar without adding awkward bulk at the neck
The O'Neill Ninja line offers reliable cold-water protection at a more accessible price point than the Psycho Tech series. At 1.5mm, the Ninja Hood is the seasonal transition piece — it's what you grab when the wind is cold and your ears are taking a beating, but the water isn't cold enough to justify a full 3mm hood. It's also useful as a standalone ear protection piece paired with a springsuit in windy conditions.
Sizing & Fit: Size by head circumference. Hood should fit snugly without creating pressure points. If between sizes, size up.
Care: Rinse with fresh water after every session. Air dry in shade. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

We currently offer shipping within the United States.
Free standard shipping is available on orders over $100, excluding surfboards and other oversized items.
Shipping rates for orders under $100, expedited methods, and oversized items are calculated at checkout.
Oversized Items
Some items require special handling and do not qualify for free shipping or standard prepaid rates. These may include, but are not limited to:

Surfboard Shipping
Surfboards are excluded from free shipping and may require additional shipping, packaging, and handling charges due to size and freight requirements.
Because surfboards are fragile oversized items, delivery times may vary and extra transit protection may be required. Any surfboard-specific shipping charges will be shown at checkout or coordinated separately if needed.

Delivery Times

Tracking
