The Firewire TJ Hull Rider 9'6 is the larger expression of Taylor Jensen and Dan Mann's hull longboard design — offering more volume, more glide, and more wave-catching ease in the same innovative hull package. At 9'6 and 80.6 liters, this board is built for surfers who want effortless paddling and a supremely connected, flowing feel in small-to-moderate surf. The hull bottom's convex design creates a unique rail-to-rail ease that transforms how you interact with the wave face — every trim feels fluid, every turn feels natural.
- Hull Bottom: Moderate convex hull bottom delivers an unmatched connection to the wave — fluid, easy rail-to-rail transitions impossible to replicate with a concave or flat bottom design.
- Nose: Fuller nose outline with tear-drop concave cutout for reduced weight, increased maneuverability, and enhanced lift for noseriding and cross-stepping across the deck.
- Tail: Rounded pintail for smooth, stable trimming; flatter entry rocker with gentle tail rocker for effortless wave catching and comfortable directional control.
- Volume: 80.6 liters at 9'6 — maximum longboard volume in Helium construction for outstanding paddle power and wave catching across all skill levels.
- Construction: Firewire Helium — lightweight EPS/epoxy construction for a more buoyant, responsive, and durable board than traditional PU longboards of similar dimensions.
- Ideal For: Heavier surfers, longboard beginners, or experienced surfers seeking maximum glide and wave-catching ability in a hull shape. Works best in ankle-high to shoulder-high conditions with open, slower wave faces.
Sizing: The 9'6 / 80.6L suits surfers from approximately 160–230 lbs, or any surfer wanting maximum glide and paddle ease. The 9'0 at 71.5L offers a slightly more maneuverable option for lighter or more experienced longboarders.
Care: Rinse with fresh water after every session. Protect epoxy from impacts and prolonged sun exposure. Store in a board bag when not in use to preserve the Helium construction over time.

Most in-stock orders are processed within 1–3 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

We currently offer shipping within the United States.
Free standard shipping is available on orders over $100, excluding surfboards and other oversized items.
Shipping rates for orders under $100, expedited methods, and oversized items are calculated at checkout.

Some items require special handling and do not qualify for free shipping or standard prepaid rates. These may include, but are not limited to:

Surfboard Shipping
Surfboards are excluded from free shipping and may require additional shipping, packaging, and handling charges due to size and freight requirements.
Because surfboards are fragile oversized items, delivery times may vary and extra transit protection may be required. Any surfboard-specific shipping charges will be shown at checkout or coordinated separately if needed.
