The O'Neill Psycho 3mm Coldwater Surf Hood delivers serious warmth for cold-water surfing — a 3mm full hood built on O'Neill's Psycho-line neoprene to keep your head, ears, and neck insulated through deep winter sessions in the 45–58°F range.

Head warmth is disproportionately important for overall thermal comfort in the water — you lose a significant amount of body heat through your head, and cold ears cause pain that ends sessions faster than cold anywhere else. At 3mm, this hood is for genuine cold-water surfing: West Coast winter, East Coast late fall through early spring, or any lineup where your 5/4 wetsuit still leaves your head freezing. Pair with 3mm gloves and booties for a full cold-water kit.
Sizing & Fit: Size by head circumference. Hood should create a complete seal around the face without pulling or gaping. If between sizes, size up for comfort over long sessions — a hood that's too tight causes headaches quickly.
Care: Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every session. Hang inside-out to dry completely in shade. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Free standard shipping is available on orders over $100, excluding surfboards and other oversized items.
Shipping rates for orders under $100, expedited methods, and oversized items are calculated at checkout.

Surfboard Shipping
Surfboards are excluded from free shipping and may require additional shipping, packaging, and handling charges due to size and freight requirements.
Because surfboards are fragile oversized items, delivery times may vary and extra transit protection may be required. Any surfboard-specific shipping charges will be shown at checkout or coordinated separately if needed.
